The Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is one of the most difficult places to play NCAA basketball…if you’re not a Husky. The 10,000-seat arena in Storrs, CT is home to the University of Connecticut Huskies, and houses both Men’s and Women’s basketball programs. The arena opened on January 21, 1990 and was named after Harry A. Gampel, a philanthropist who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and also donated one million dollars for the construction of the arena.

The fans are in your face, and the players feed off of their relentless enthusiasm. Hall of Fame coaches Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma both call the building home, and have a stunning 98% winning percentage in the building since opening the doors in 1990.
